Our Visiting Christian Science Nursing Service serves the greater Sacramento area, including El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba Counties.

Services include:

1. Assessment of individual needs for proper care, safety, and nourishment in the home.

2. Cleansing and covering wounds.

3. Planning menus and preparing meals.

4. Making friendly visits to support an individual’s study of Christian Science.

5. Loaning mobility aids for a few months, at no charge.

6. Assisting with travel arrangements to a Christian Science care facility.

7. Assistance with mobility and instruction in the use of mobility aids.

8. Helping a client’s family members maintain in the home a spiritual atmosphere conducive to immediate and complete healing.

Recipients of Olive Glen's Visiting Christian Science Nursing service are expected to be radically reliant on Christian Science for healing and to be working with a Journal-listed practitioner on the day of each VCSN visit. Membership of The Mother Church, or a local branch church, is not a requirement.

Though most visits from our Christian Science nurse are one hour to two hours in length, the duration of a stay is flexible, depending on the need. 

If longer-term service is needed and home care remains the appropriate option, the visiting Christian Science nurse may assist in arranging for a private-duty Christian Science nurse or aide.  The visiting Christian Science nurse may also provide information about Christian Science nursing facilities to a client and a client’s family members.
